All of our gear is extremely water-resistant, but not 100% waterproof. It will do a great job of protecting your items during a light rain, but for more extreme weather, we suggest using the Large Rainfly for an added layer of protection for both the external elements and what is inside your pack.

Can the internal frame be removed? How?
Yes, the internal frame can be removed! It uses a zip-out system. Just unzip around the perimeter of the bag until you reach the opposite end, and then you can pull the frame out.
Can it be used as a carry on?
Yes, the FERNWEH is generally considered carry-on compatible by most airlines, and would be placed in the overhead compartment during travel. Just make sure to check with your specific airline for their carry-on size restrictions before you travel!
